Travis Barker is ready to get personal.
Hulu announced on April 22 that the Blink-182 drummer, 50, will open up about how he was affected by his 2008 private plane crash in an upcoming documentary.
Titled Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, the documentary addresses Barker’s journey to fame from being a trash collector. The work, per a synopsis, “reveals a complex man battling pain, grief and the thin line between survival and surrender.”

The documentary, directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, will feature Barker’s collaborators and loved ones, as well as others in the industry. “This is the story of the man behind the tattoos. A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops,” the synopsis teases.
Disney executive Rob Mills told The Wrap that the drummer “personally called about this doc to say, ‘I want to tell this story … I was in this plane crash that I walked away from, and it fundamentally changed me.'"
Barker spoke about the project at Hulu’s Get Real event, saying, “It's an unfiltered look at my journey after a life-changing experience and also spotlights the amazing people I have in my life who carried me through it. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to document it and be able to share it with all of you.”
“This documentary started over 10 years ago and it's been a wild, wild ride, and I can't wait to share it with the world,” he said.
On Sept. 19, 2008, Barker and longtime collaborator DJ AM, born Adam Michael Goldstein, survived after their plane crashed shortly after takeoff as they were leaving South Carolina, where they had just played a show. Goldstein died a year later from a prescription drug overdose.
The crash killed Barker's security guard Charles "Che" Still, his assistant Chris Baker, pilot Sarah Lemmon and co-pilot James Bland.

In July 2023, Barker shared that he's made big strides in overcoming his crippling fear of flying after the crash and credited his wife Kourtney Kardashian.
"Just flew for the 30th time since my plane crash," he wrote in a Threads post. “Wouldn't be able to tour or enjoy life again the way I do without the healing love of my amazing wife. I love you @kourtneykardash.”

Barker joined Blink-182 in 1998 and played on their hit album, Enema of the State. He has recorded seven albums and has toured with the rock band. The drummer has also contributed to albums by the Aquabats, Box Car Racer and more.
