Prince William's favorite Christmas song is so unexpected.

The Prince of Wales likes his pick because it's "a bit different."

He shared his go-to holiday tunes, movie, and activity.

The day after Thanksgiving isn't just Black Friday—it's the start of Christmas music season. (I don't make the rules.) Whether you're a Michael Bublé stan or a Wham! lover, there's something for all who celebrate (even the Scrooges). And, if there ever was a prime example of royals really are just like us, it would be Prince William's favorite Christmas tunes.

The Prince of Wales revealed the holiday songs he gets down to while speaking to the Royal Marsden Hospital radio station (where he has been president since 2007) last December.

“For this particular chat with you, Barry, I’m going to say ‘Feliz Navidad’ is my favorite Christmas song because it’s a bit different,” William said. “I could say Mariah Carey, who I love dearly, as well. That’s a good one, and obviously there are many others, but I think I’ll probably go with ‘Feliz Navidad.’ It’s a bit more jolly."

William not only demonstrated his great music taste by singling out the José Feliciano track from 1970, which is sung mostly in Spanish, but he hinted at his language abilities. The prince is fluent in Spanish, French, German, and Swahili.

William also shouted out his favorite Christmas film, the 2003 comedy Elf starring Will Ferrell (another hit). “I would have to say probably Elf,” he said on the show. “It’s very funny, and I keep watching it every Christmas and it still makes me laugh.”

The fun only continued, as William shared he, his wife Princess Kate, and their three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, love to play board games. Their favorites for game night are Monopoly and Risk.

“We are playing board games with the children quite a lot. We love Monopoly—that’s good, and Risk," he said. “That’s a good board game. It goes on for hours and usually everyone gets very cross because they lose. But that’s what I like playing.”

Christmas celebrations from the family are quite a big deal. Onlookers won't need reminding that the royal family spends the holidays at Sandringham Estate, participating in a Christmas day church service, walkabout, lunch, and viewing of the monarch's speech, among other things. They also exchange silly gag gifts on Christmas Eve. In 2021, Princess Kate started her own Christmas tradition with her annual concert, "Royal Carols: Together at Christmas."
