SAO PAULO, April 24 (Reuters) - Brazilian President ‌Luiz Inacio Lula ‌da Silva underwent a ​successful procedure to remove a skin lesion at a Sao ‌Paulo hospital ⁠on Friday and is expected to ⁠resume normal activities in the ​coming days, ​his ​doctor Roberto Kalil ‌Filho said.

"It is a common lesion. A biopsy was performed. It is localized, ‌does not spread, ​and ​is ​the most common ‌type of lesion ​in ​the world," Kalil Filho said.

Lula, 80, ​is ‌expected to seek re-election ​in October.
